“Good alignment prevents injury”
You’ve probably heard that before.
It sounds logical.
But when you look closer… things get less clear.
Is there really one “correct” way to move?
And if not—what actually keeps people safe?
In this workshop, we’ll explore a different way of thinking
This isn’t about throwing alignment out. It’s about understanding what it can and can’t do—so you can teach with more clarity, not more confusion.
You’ll learn:
-
Why the idea that alignment prevents injury is so appealing
-
What research actually says (and doesn’t say) about alignment and risk
-
Why different bodies don’t fit a single “ideal” shape
-
What actually influences injury risk in yoga
-
How to think in terms of load, capacity, and context
-
Exactly how to cue without chasing “perfect” alignment
There will be time for Q&A, so you can ask about your own teaching and real-life scenarios.
By the end, you’ll:
-
Feel less pressure to get alignment “right”
-
Know what actually matters for safety
-
Teach with more confidence and flexibility
-
Offer options instead of rigid corrections
-
Help students feel capable—not cautious
This is for you if:
🤸♂️ You’ve ever questioned the alignment cues you’ve been taught
🤸♂️ You want your teaching to reflect modern, evidence-informed thinking
🤸♂️ You’re tired of second-guessing yourself in class
🤸♂️ You want to become the most confident yoga teacher you can be!
